Ever since I can remember, girls in our family always had their eyebrows trimmed and their underarms freed from hair. The men, on the other hand, always shaved their beards and sometimes even their heads. I assume this has something to do with our culture which investigates body hair on girls as unfeminine. The gizmos and techniques evolved thru the centuries, steadily getting more refined as ladies and men became more well informed and started messing with the materials open to them.
